Oh, how the time does fly...

So it's been 5 weeks since I last sat down to write something. I know I say this every time, but I'm going to get better at this blogging thing. Anyway, Justis has been at basic for 4 of those 5 weeks. We finally received a couple of letters. It's always so comforting to hear from him. I have talked to him a handful of times on the phone, but the last two times have been for like 2 min. each. It's hard to have a conversation in 2 min. But we do the best we can with what we are given.

I think that Justis has been enjoying basic for the most part. If I had to choose one thing that he had a problem with it would be the lack of food. He is very grateful now for finikey eaters because he is able to fill up on the food they aren't interested in. He of course has done well at the physical training part of basic. He is known as "Captain America" to his group. They have asked him how to get better at funning faster and becoming stronger. He always tells the to just do their best. He is learning how to do all sorts of new things. Things like shooting big machine guns, throwing grenades, and putting IV's in someone. He's also been able to brush up on his cleaning skills. He's written home a couple of times about cleaning bathrooms and midnight, and mopping floors at 1 am. I will have to put those skills to the test when we get reunited and have our own place again.

The girls and I have just been hanging out here at G & G Jacobson's and having fun. Poor Kaylee has been told "NO" more times in this past month than any little 18 mo. old should have to be told. There is just so much house here that she has been exploring and re-exploring every room, nook and crany. She is very good though at making sure the pets get fed. She loves fill Toby's food and water dishes and is good to remember exactly which cubbard his treats are in and loves to ask to give him one. She gets right down there by his mouth and hand feeds him his treats. She just loves the animals. Makenzie on the other hand is just getting so big. She has at least 3 elastics around each wrist/arm and even more on her little legs. (Not really, but that's how chubby she is) We love the chub. She has been smiling so sweetly too, and justs loves to be held. What baby doesn't though. So it's comforting to know she is normal. She doesn't like to sleep at night though. Her mommy sure doesn't like that. She has discovered though that when mom is so tired at 3 am she can worm her way into bed with her. That seems to make her sleep better. We had to take that option for the last 2-3 nights, and I'm putting a stop to it now. Who knew such habbits could form at such a young age. Sheesh!

Well, that pretty much sums us up for the last month. We will get better at posting more regularly. Just you wait!!
