Elephant baths, Scrapbooking, and Friends...

So at the beginning of the summer my mom, sister and I had such great plans to do so much before I move. We were going to finish projects, read books, scrapbook, get pedicures, go here, go there you get the picture. Well suddenly it's the middle of July, the summer is half gone, and have we haven't even done half of those things. So we sat down and planned out the rest of the summer weeks we have together. It's going by so fast. Anyway.
For all of you scrapbookers out there how do you do it with kids. I have been at it for 2 days now and do you want to know how many pages I've finished-3. Yep that is a 3. It's so hard to get anything done when you have one that is fighting with her cousin over toys or they are both hungry, then once you think you've got them down for naps you remember that you have the baby that likes to take little cat naps and then she just wants to be held all the time. Sigh!! I'm going to give it another go tomorrow so we'll see how that goes.
And last but not least, I've tried to see friends as much as possible this summer since I'll be gone for a while, but that isn't always easy. Some friends have to go and have their baby's two weeks early(j/k Tiffany- he's so cute), and you just can't all seem to get on the same page. But I guess we are trying and that's what counts and thank goodness for the blogging world. I'd lose track of everyone if it weren't for that. So thanks to all you wonderful bloggers and for pretty much insisting that I make a blog. It's been fun so far.

We did make it to the Zoo the other day which was a lot of fun. It's so rewarding and fun to see your kids faces when the see the animals and how the move and how big they are. We were fortunate enough to see the elephants get a bath. It was so much fun. There were 3 elephants. One was 48 yrs old and an elephants life expectancy is 42 mind you, one that was in it's 30's and the other was like 28. The 28 yr old was also pregnant and let me tell you what ladies, we thought we had it bad being prego for 9 months, well I'm thinkin that sounds pretty good compared to the elephants who are pregnant for like 22 months. OMG!!! I can't/don't even want to imagine.. She was so fun to watch because she loved the water. She came right over and ran straight for the stream coming from a fire hose. She would open her mouth and turn from side to side, fan out her ears to get behind them, and then she even got down on all fours to sit and enjoy. It was so fun to see. Kaylee was captivated by it. She squealed and giggle and just stood on my lap watching this whole thing. It was so great.

How the nights can be long...

So I really think that I have learned to live off a very few hours of sleep. It's hard to have two kids to take care of in the middle of the night let alone having to share a room with them both. Kids are so noisy when they sleep. Last night Kaylee was rolling all around in her crib and she'd hit the sides, and at one point she was a wake for a while and turned her music on. I woke up to what sounded like very loud lullabye's in the silence of the night. I didn't want to turn it off for fear of upsetting her. We had a rough day yesterday. Kaylee woke up with a fever of 100.1 and I was sure it was strep since we had been around family that came down with it. I watched her as the day went on and decided to take her in last night to the doctors. When we got there she was up to 103.4 and just roasting. She was more calm and quiet than I've ever seen her and she was just clinging to me wanting to sit on my lap and just be right next to me. So after nearly gagging her from having to have her throat swabbed the test came back negative. That is so frustrating when logic says she should have it. So none the less we had a longer night because she was still running a fever. But as the new dawn approached so did a fever less morning and a much happier girl.
