Time is flying...
Well, we have officially been here for one month. It's amazing how quickly the time has gone by. The weather has calmed down a bit too, thankfully. All of those major hurricanes that have been hitting the US haven't had any big affects on us. We've been enjoying lots of sunshine and humidity. Well, enjoying the sunshine anyway.
My girls seem to get bigger everyday. It's nice that Kaylee is because she is starting to really talk and she definitely understands me. She's at such a fun age right now. I've always heard people say that kids watch everything you do, but you don't really believe it until you have your own. Kaylee mimics me all the time. The other day there was music on and I was dancing around and I look at her and she was trying to copy me exactly. And when I'm getting ready in the morning she likes to pretend like she's putting make-up on too. It's so funny. And Makenzie, well, I'm not so sure it's great she's getting bigger. She's starting to weigh a ton. And as all babies, loves to be held. But she is smiling and laughing at Kaylee and I all the time. I love to watch Makenzie watch Kaylee. Her eyes are glued to her when she is busily playing with toys. Probably wondering"How does she do that?" I know that things will get crazy around here when Makenzie starts to become mobile. Thank goodness she sticks to a 360* circle around her playing with toys.
So Kaylee's newest thing is swimming. She loves to go swimming. I feel bad on the days that we go out to get the mail and haven't planned on swimming because she always walks over to the pool and in her cute was says swim pool. She's pretty brave too. At first she takes her time getting into the pool. She'll go down one step and then the next and if I reach out my arms to help her she backs up and says "No." So once she is ready for me she puts out her hand palm up and wiggles her fingers back and forth saying "mere." That's come here. It's so cute. So then I get to bring her out into the water and we playing. She really loves to jump into the pool which surprises me a lot. The first time we went swimming my neighbor was with us and taught her how to jump in. She sits on the side of the pool(Kaylee) and she says "humpty dumpty sat on a wall, humpty dumpty had a great fall" then she jumps into the pool. She just laughs and giggles all the time.
Her other favorite thing is rock collecting. Everyday when we go out for our afternoon walk she has to stop and collect rocks. Her hands are full of them by the time we are done. I don't really know how it got started because I sure didn't show her rocks, but she loves them. It's really quite cute to turn around wondering where she is and she is bent down next to her stroller picking up rocks.
Well, we are down to 3 weeks until Justis is finished with his current school. We are getting excited. I think he is too. It's a little hard to see him as little as we do, so it will be nice to have a full time daddy again.
So I have to tell a story about Kaylee. She had her first experience with flirting on Sunday this past week. We were at church sitting on our bench and Kaylee was going crazy. Giggling, jumping up and down and just acting silly. I wasn't sure why she was acting this way, but noticed that she'd stop every now and then and look behind us. So I turned around and saw that there was a little boy on the bench behind us. He was smiling and her and she would turn into jello and fall into my lap. I started to laugh and Justis turned and wondered why Kaylee was acting that way so I had to explain it to him. It was hard not to laugh at her even though I was trying to get her to settle down since we were in church.
Well, as my title says, time is flying and right now that's a good thing.

Bad Hair Day
Okay, so my friend and I went to the park the other day. It was a nice sunny day, and we were enjoying the park. Kaylee was having fun on the play ground, running around the jungle gyms, swings, slides etc... We decided to go take a walk down by the lake and see the ducks. Kaylee loves ducks. So we are walking along and I'm looking at the ducks and I see a duck with the worst hair day you can imagine. It was hilarious and for once in my life I actually had my camera. It was great. So for all of you gals who think you are having a bad hair day, please take a moment to stop and remember my duck.
Our little abode
Here we are. That's us in the bottom unit. Our little veranda with something they call grass. It's not really grass, but I guess they don't really know any better.
The girls bedroom. Great for both of them. Soon we hope to get Kaylee a bed and Makenzie will upgrade to the crib, but Kaylee isn't ready for the bed yet. Maybe after Christmas.
This is the girls closet. It's HUGE. So much bigger than ours. Not fair, but it's nice to have the extra storage for all or our blankets, luggage, maternity clothes and anything else that doesn't seem to have a place anywhere else.
This is the master suite. It's pretty much just a bed, but it's nice to be back in my own. I'm sure you can all understand that.
Here is our bathroom. Closet on the right and shower on the left.
This is our closet. Justis said that he finally feels like an adult. I asked him why and he said because he finally has a walk in closet. I thought it was so funny that that's all it took.
This is my laundry room. It's so nice not to have my washer in my kitchen/family room and to have my dryer next to my washer. Every time I do laundry the song comes to mind
"Reunited and it feels so good...."
You can all sing the song in your heads. You know you are.
Here is the computer/sewing room. It's not much right now, but it's nice to have a room for this kind of stuff. And there is a huge closet for storage.

Look how cute their shower curtain is. Frogs. There is a tumbler with a frog in it that Kaylee loves to play with when brushing her teeth or getting her hair done.

Here is my dinning room with a pretty chandiler that will have a table under it in 4-6 weeks. That was 2 weeks ago so we are hoping for the 4 weeks and excited to get our first table. Yippee!!

Here is our kitchen. It's really great. I can still watch t.v. with Justis while I do the dishes. Our sink it just behind that counter right there and looks out into the family room.
Sweet Home Contintued...
So here we are, at the beginning of a new adventure. We've had a few in our 4 years of marriage, but none quite as big as this. Moving out of state was a scarey thought. I told myself that I have to be strong, I've got two little girls that I'm taking care of and thank goodness for that. They have saved me. It's been a really great experience so far. Let me give you a little glimpse of what it's been like.
We live about 2 hrs from the pan handle of Florida. Right in the Gulf of Mexico.(I hope you all remember your geography) So little did I know, but we have moved right into Hurricane Central. It's been pretty crazy. The first weekend that Justis was gone we had tropical storm Fay come through and dump a huge amount, I mean HUGE amount of rain. I thought I liked storms, but that was back in Utah. We don't really get stroms. Those are just little showers compared to what I seen out here. Anyway. Fay left us with flood watches and tornado watches that first weekend. For once in my life I wished I live on the top floor so that I wouldn't have to deal with the flooding. But thankfully we didn't have any problems. But the tornado, now that's another story. So I thought that tornados only hit the mid west states where it's just flat as far as the eye can see. Boy was I wrong. We get them here too thanks to the storms. So Monday night a week or so ago, my neighbor comes knocking on my door telling me that there is a tornado WARNING. Now that's different than a WATCH for all you who don't know. It means there has been one spotted and it's on it's way. So holy cow, I'm freaking out about now. So we knock on the neighbor's door across the hall from me and we go crowding in to her apt because she has more inside walls than we did. There were 3 of us girls, my two babies, 3 dogs, and a cat that were prepared to squish into a bathroom. It was intense. But luckily the tornado passed us on the far side of town. Phew!!!
Once Fay passed then came Gustav. By the way, those of you who know me well know that the Food Network was one of my favorite channels. Well that still is, but the Weather Channel is flying up the list. You could say that I've become OCD. But I don't care, it's comforting to have it. Anyway. Gustav came and went with little to no problems for us and now we are watching out for Hanna, Ike, and Josephine. What a party!!! It definitely makes your blood pump, being in these kind of situations, but we are doing really well. I'm learning to really take advantage of the sunny days and get out with the girls and enjoy the ones we have to stay in. The weather is really a great subject to talk about.

"Sweet Home Alabama"
Hi all- we are back online. It's been a few weeks since my last post but much has gone on. We've made a huge trip across the country and are still here to tell about it. I have so much to tell, but no time right now. So for all of you faithful blogger friends, I will post more as soon as I find a spare minute in my day(which as you mothers know is asking the impossible.) But I will do since there is no try.
